Global electronic waste surges, ITAD companies accelerate layout of high-end chip recycling

According to a report by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the total amount of electronic waste worldwide will exceed 60 million tons in 2023, with servers and graphics cards containing GPU/CPU accounting for 18%. American ITAD giant Sims Lifecycle Services announced the launch of a "GPU Remanufacturing" service, which uses AI detection tools to repair faulty chips and reduce the cost of refurbishing Tesla's old FSD autonomous driving chips by 40%. Xinyi Technology collaborates with Alibaba Cloud to develop a blockchain traceability system to ensure the complete erasure of retired chip data.
